Most people don't really know what is going on with our economy. One reason Wal MArt is doing so well is because of there low prices, or low price perception. Many of there products aren't low priced, and 35 percent of there sales is in food, and many people don't perceive there prices as low, a marketing ploy. They sell a lot of Bananas, and people will eat Bananas when they are hungry. Anyhow, people are blind to the fact that the reason we are in a depression, not recession, is because of free trade. NAFTA. Outsourcing. We have lost much of our manufacturing because of free trade. And in doing so, we are importing more than we export, and in doing so we lose jobs, good paying jobs. Without a strong manufacturing base our economy will suffer and suffer. And who is at the helm, you guessed it. Wal MArt, Wal Mart and well, all the other Global idiots who think they know better what we should be doing. Yes Wal Mart is doing O.K., but it is because the people are blind as to what the real reason is for our depression. It is Free Trade my friends. NAFTA, Gatt, and all the other dumb treaties our stupid presidents have gotten us into. And the American people are to blind to see it. Hitler was a good leader as well as Rob and Sam Walton. President Bush. All good leaders and like a good leader, like Hitler, look where they led the people of there Nations. Nowhere! And like Hitler, we will suffer for our stupidity and we will suffer blindly! Look around you people, yea look at Wal MArt then look at your neighbors, what do you really think! Look at those who are losing there jobs, look at those who are homeless. Look at the economy, then look at Wal Mart. Do you blindly see?

And why cant we export anything TJ?

Does WM have anything to do with the fact that the crap still Mfg here, in the U.S, is overpriced, and no one wants?

I can imagine! The French buying Hummers, at 10Xs the price of other vehicles.

Maybe, foreigners would by GM products, if they could compete, price wise...How to compete? Lower Mgf cost, how to that? You answer.

Jim,

How about all those people who died when American-made cranes, operated by union workers, collapsed? What about that union-built bridge collapse in Minnesota? How can you pick and choose which deaths matter? Why do you consider dangerous toys to be an atrocity, but you seem to blow off dangerous food? Is it okay to die from American-made food (because, at least Americans made it, dammit!), but not okay to die from Chinese toys? Either way, you're dead. If one is bad, then so is the other.

I'm not bashing American workers but, Jim... get real. American products can be just as dangerous. Plenty of asbestos was made in the USA and we grow plenty of tobacco.

Free Trade, Corporate America, China, Bush, Obama, and wal-mart; these are false reason why are economy is falling apart. To say we are in a depression is ridiciulous are you living out of a dumpster; no so shut up. The reason why are economy is failing is because of you, your neighbor and the jerk down the road. Debt, Bankruptcy, Housing, are all falling apart because people took on too much debt where they couldn't handle and now banks will go under. Yeah maybe it was fannie or it was the people in CA but the only person you can blame is ourself for taking on debt beyond reasonable means. People buying homes for half a million on a 3/10 adjustable rate mortgage with a 32k salary and thinking you could get out in 3 years or be making more money.

Changing Topic

Take away Free Trade and you will then end up eating out of a trash can behind the closed down McDonalds.

The gov't allowed the banks to underwrite bad loans...Allowed is the wrong word, forced, is more like it. Coerced.

You know folks a lot of people don't realize that we, America pay for the products to be put in the stores overseas. Our Tax money is helping to pay for products that the chinese can't afford to buy. A lot of your tax money had to pay for products setting on ships in the docks of china, because the chinese can't afford to buy those products. So, we yes you and I, had to foot the bill. Do you call that fair trade, your being ripped off by this Free Trade nonsence. I don't buy it, and neither should you. Wal MArt didn't do it, we did. Folks you can believe whatever you want to, Ol Thomas doesn't care what you think. Because Ol Thomas is right. Keep on going in this same direction, fake money, trade defecits, outsourcing jobs, lowering tariffs, folks it is tariffs that pays our taxes. As a society we, the American people, are overburdened with taxes. Your hard earned money, is going south with our unfair tax system. If we simply would let other countries pay there fair share of taxes when doing business with us, we could lower our taxs considerably. So, yes, Free Trade, NAFTA, deregulation has ruined our economy. BELIEVE IT OR NOT! And Ol Thomas say, "Better believe it." Boston Tea Party, let's do it again! Revolution, we need another one! Let's send Fez back to England or better yet, let's give him free board to China, maybe he can sell his liver at a free trade price!
